PITTSFIELD -- The Tyler Aces advanced to face Post 68 today by knocking off South Berkshire in the Berkshire County American Legion playoffs, 10-1, on Thursday.

South Berkshire jumped out 1-0 in the first before Tanner Hanford's two-run homer helped Tyler take a 3-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning. Caleb Roach and Eric Leitch kept South Berkshire in check the rest of the way.

"It was key, very key," Aces coach Bill Dassat said. "When the other team starts off scoring a run, you're playing catch up all the time. It's good to come back in the bottom half of the inning and get back on top."

Hanford scored four times and drove in two. Andrew Leitch and Eric Leitch each tripled for the Aces while Lane Grogan had a home run.

The Aces will meet Post 68 today at 5:30 p.m. at Clapp Park in an elimination game.
