Prison sentence for burglaries

A 25-year-old Chester woman was sentenced to prison for her role in a series of break-ins at homes in Central Berkshire County.

Superior Court Judge John A. Agostini sentenced Amber Margraf of Middlefield Road to concurrent two- to four-year terms at the Mass achusetts Correctional Inst itution at Framingham.

Margraf pleaded guilty to a number of charges ranging from breaking and entering to larceny, destruction of property, possession of burglary tools, and a common and notorious thief.

On other charges of drug possession and illegal possession of pepper spray, Margraf was handed concurrent jail sentences, and was placed on three years of probation on the charge of common and notorious thief.

The case arose from a series of break-ins in Dalton, Hinsdale, Lee and Pittsfield between Jan. 22, 2011, and June 17, 2011, along with a motor vehicle stop in Lee on March 12 of this year.

Woman admits to heroin charge

A 24-year-old Clarksburg woman pleaded guilty to drug charges on Monday in Berkshire Superior Court.

Appearing before Superior Court Judge John A. Ag ostini, Nicole M. Belanger pleaded guilty to one count of possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, and one count of conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Agostini ordered the case continued without a change of plea for one year under the condition that Belanger undergo substance abuse counseling, refrain from using illegal drugs, and undergo random drug testing.

One count of drug violation within a drug free school zone was dismissed at the commonwealth’s request.

The charges resulted from a motor vehicle stop in Lee on Nov. 9, 2011.

1 year probation for methadone sale

A 45-year-old North Adams man pleaded guilty to a charge of distribution of methadone this week.

Superior Court Judge John A. Agostini gave Dennis O’Neil a six-month suspended sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction and placed him on probation for one year. One count of conspiracy to violate drug laws was dismissed at the commonwealth’s request.

Cocaine charges net jail sentence

A 36-year-old Pittsfield man received a seven-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to two drug charges this week in Berkshire Superior Court.

Marcus W. Scott pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Superior Court Judge John A. Agostini ordered Scott to serve his sentence at the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction.
