On the eve of the fundraiser for Michelle Obama at Pittsfield's Colonial Theatre, James Taylor -- who will perform for about one hour -- shared some thoughts with The Eagle about his heavy involvement in President Obama's re-election campaign:
- "It's clear to people that this is a political fundraiser, and I don't think there's any element of confusion for people buying a ticket what the event is about."
- "This is just an expression of my affinity for, and how positively I feel, about Barack Obama as a leader and what it says about America, about his vision and what kind of leader he is -- honest, sincere, passionate and intelligent, a public servant -- to a degree that is really rare in public life at the higher levels of government. I'm so grateful and feel so good about the country for choosing him. I really want to put out my voice in support, I want to chime in right now "
- "There's a real choice here. People who say it doesn't make any difference, I couldn't disagree more. It's a labor of love, I feel very strongly about the choice that we Americans have to make here."
