LENOX - Police are asking for the public's help as they continue to sort out conflicting versions of the circumstances leading to a four-vehicle collision on Thursday evening.
Chad Lemaire, 29, of Pittsfield, driver of a 2005 Jeep Cherokee involved in the 5:20 accident at the intersection of Pittsfield Road and Holmes Road was treated and released from Berkshire Medical Center, according to hospital officials.
Bot no information was available on Linwood Dodge and Herman Berkman, both 89 and longtime Stockbridge residents, potentially because of federal confidentiality rules allowing anyone hospitalized to withhold information to the public. Dodge was operating a 2004 Ford Explorer owned by Berkman, who was a passenger, according to Lenox Police.
A 2006 Porsche SUV operated by Mark Carnevale of Pittsfield and a 2006 Dodge pickup driven by Darren Katz of Great Barrington also were involved in the pileup. No ages were available for the drivers, Lenox police said, and there were no records indicating they had been hospitalized.
