GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Lee High School volleyball team finished the 2012 regular season unbeaten on Wednesday night, defeating host Monument Mountain 3-1. The scores were 26-16, 23-25, 25-13 and 25-15.
"We took three [sets] from Lee on the year, and I'm not sure any other team in the county did that," said Spartan coach Steve Piazzo. "I'm proud of my kids. They worked hard this season."
Lee finishes the season an impressive 19-0, and will await its positioning in the seeding meeting today at Turners Falls. Lauren Richardson led the Wildcats with seven kills, 14 assists, two digs and four aces. Teammate Katie Morin turned in 11 kills, four aces, two digs, 13 assists and four blocks while Vanessa Castillo had five kills and six digs.
For Monument, Kelsey Marzotto had five kills and five blocks, Rachel Couser had seven kills and a block and Meaghan Prince had seven assists, three blocks and three digs.
Wahconah 3, Greenfield 0
GREENFIELD -- The Warriors wrapped up the regular season, earning a 25-20, 25-12, 25-20 victory on the road.
Wahconah (11-7) got seven aces, 11 kills and a block from Beth McBain. Ericka Unwin added 11 assists, four kills and eight digs while Taylor Powers added four aces, three digs and seven service points.
Keefe Tech 5, McCann 1
FRAMINGHAM -- The Hornets made a long drive and a quick exit from the State Vocational tournament with a 5-1 loss to Keefe Tech.
The Hornets fell into a 4-0 deficit by the end of the first 40 minutes.
Shane Fuller scored for the Hornets in the second half after Keefe had made it 5-0.
While McCann is out of the vocational tournament, it has an 11 seed in the Western Massachusetts Division III tournament. It travels to Sabis for a 2:30 p.m. game Friday.

BRIDGEWATER -- The Trailblazers saw their season come to an end in the opening round of the MASCAC
The hosts scored three times in the final 25 minutes of the first half, taking a 3-0 halftime lead. Olivia Creonte added a goal in the 65th minute to cap the scoring and propel Bridgewater into the conference semifinals.
Danielle Heinsohn made six saves in net for MCLA (7-11).
