LENOX -- Four people were injured -- one seriously -- following a two-car crash at the intersection of Routes 7 & 20 and Holmes Road on Monday evening, according to Lenox police.
The crash was similar to one a week ago at that location -- and it was the 10th in three years at the busy
Police say around 5:50 p.m., the driver of a southbound vehicle attempting to make a left turn onto Holmes Road collided with a northbound vehicle. The three young adults in the southbound car and the driver of the other vehicle were all taken to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
No further information was available as of press time.
On Nov. 19, one person was seriously hurt in a similar three-vehicle crash involving a southbound driver attempting to turn left onto Holmes Road.
That crash prompted Lenox Police Chief Stephen O'Brien to consider asking state transportation officials to ban all left turns from the southbound lane of Routes 7 &20 except on a designated turn signal.
O'Brien said his review of data from the previous accidents at the intersection indicate the majority occur involving the turn lane.
