KEENE, N.H. -- The MCLA men's basketball team needed one more second Sunday afternoon.

After rallying from a 15-point deficit in the second half, MCLA's Mike Muller missed a 3-point shot with four seconds left and Ruben DelRosario's trey found the net -- but after the horn sounded -- as MCLA fell to Keene State 89-86.

Trailing 82-72 with 1:30 left in the game, the Trailblazers rallied and cut the lead to 82-80 on DelRosario's trey.

Keene's Ryan Martin made two free throws with 20 seconds to play made it 89-86. The Trailblazers had one last play and Vermon Cross fed Muller for the three that was long. DelRosario got the rebound, but couldn't get another shot off in time.

John Jones had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead MCLA (2-6). Martin paced Keene with 16 points.

Wahconah 12, Everett 1

SHEFFIELD -- Wahconah had nine different players score -- including four newcomers -- in a 12-1 season-opening win over Mount Everett.

Patrick Jamross had two assists and a goal while David Senecal had two goals and an assist. Devin Battaini had two goals and two assists.

"It took us probably five minutes to really start spreading the puck around," said Warriors coach Don Disbrow. "Once we got them to spread out and start cycling the puck, it opened things up. ... Just seeing the balance is nice."

Peter Lovejoy had Everett's lone goal.

Williams women's hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN -- National power Elmira, the No. 5 team in the latest USCHO.com national Division III poll, skated into town Saturday night and left with a 6-0 win. over Williams.

Lindsay Burrows had a hat trick for Elmira (11-1-1). Williams (4-3) was outshot 40-18 and goalie Chloe Billadeau made 34 saves.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Williams went 1-2 on Saturday in a meet at Johnson & Wales.

Williams beat WPI 28-9, but lost to the hosts 31-10 and SUNY-Oneonta 24-13.

Cesare Antista won three times for Williams at 141 pounds, twice by major decision. The Ephs' Jorge Lopez went 2-1.
