December may not have brought about the end of the world as we know it, but the end of the year is certainly upon us.
In Berkshire County, dozens of venues are planning to rock 2012 away on New Year's Eve.
In addition, all your favorite restaurants are likely preparing special menus for Dec. 31, so be sure to check in with them too.
If you're looking to go out to shake and sway, here's a list of Monday night happenings for you:
Rascals is hosting a New Year's Eve party with DJ Twisted. The event includes a champagne toast, party favors and an optional $5 midnight buffet.
The Dream Away Lodge will offer dinner seatings from 6 to 9 p.m., followed by a party with the band Bella's Bartock beginning at 9. Cover for the party only is $20, and includes a champagne toast at midnight and egg sandwiches from midnight until 1 a.m.
Jack Waldheim & the Criminal Hearts will ring in the New Year at the Basswater Grill. This is a formal attire affair, which includes a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by a multi-course plated dinner, dancing from 9 p.m. on, plus a champagne toast and buffet at midnight. Allium will be seating guests until 9:30 p.m., then DJ Adam Post will spin tunes for late-night
Jordan Weller & The Feathers will play a New Year's Eve Party at Gypsy Joynt. Special guest band Highland opens the show at 9 p.m.
Champagne toast at midnight. No cover.
Bogies will serve dinner from 5 to 9 p.m., followed by a country / western-theme New Year's Party with Donny Sawyer. Party is $12 per person, $20 per couple, includes party favors and a champagne toast.
Castle Street Cafe; will host its annual New Year's Eve event with live music and dancing by Rob Putnam, Rob Kelly, Jeff Stevens and Pete Putnam. The a la carte menu will be offered at 6 p.m. A formal New Year's Eve dinner menu will be available at 8:30 p.m., followed by dancing. The cost of $95 per person includes dinner, music and midnight champagne. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (413) 528-5244.
Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center and Berkshire Bach Society present "Bach at New Year's: Brandenburgs PLUS," beginning at 6 p.m. at the Mahaiwe. Selections include a concerto by Antonio Vivaldi, Kenneth Cooper's adaptation of the Bach Double Concerto for violin and oboe; the Harpsichord Concerto No. 15 in D minor by Handel, as well as Bach's Brandenburg Concerti Nos. 2 and 3. Violinist Joseph Silverstein will be a featured musical guest. Ticket holders are also invited to a post-performance reception at Castle Street Café with complimentary champagne and hors d'oeuvres.

Whiskey City will host a New Year's Eve Party in the Tally Ho room at Eastover Resort. A cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by a dinner buffet catered by Sullivan Station of Lee. Then, dance the night away with the band and a deejay, and enjoy a buffet and champagne toast at midnight. Admission is $40 per person and reservations are requested, or $10 after 9:30 p.m. for dancing with the band only. Call (413) 243-2082.
"Swing In the New Year" at the Gateways Inn with dinner followed by dancing to live music by Sherri Buxton, Paul Green and Bob Shepherd. There will be a dinner-only seating at 6:30 p.m. at $70 per person for a four-course meal and champagne. The late dinner seating at 9:30 p.m. includes dinner, live music for dancing, and a champagne toast at midnight for $85 per person. Tax and gratuity are not included. Rumpy's Tavern below the Village Inn presents "A Very Rumpy's New Year." Doors open at 5 p.m. and this red carpet event starts at 8 with a dance party with DJ Roxy Mmhmm. The event also features an appearance by the Baby New Year and other guests, along with a champagne toast. No cover, but this is an age 21 and up event.
Blantyre's 2012 New Year's is a three-day event. Guests arrive on Sunday for a wine drawing, afternoon tea and dinner.
On Monday, a black tie New Year's Eve Ball lasts from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., with the Sultans of Swing Orchestra, a decadent seven-course chef's tasting menu with wine and champagne pairings; a "cheese celebration" and dessert buffet, with 1977 vintage Taylor Fladgate port, and an early morning soup.
New Year's day includes a brunch, horse and sleigh ride (weather permitting). For Blantyre guests, the three days of merriment is a $1,000 per person charge on their room bill.

Keo Beats will be rocking in the new year at Artery Lounge in North Adams, beginning at 9:30 p.m. There will be party favors, snacks and a champagne toast.
Public Eat & Drink will be serving dinner from 5 to 10 p.m., followed by a free age-21-and-up dance party. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and party favors will be available after 10.
Static will host its third annual New Year's Eve Bash at the GEAA, beginning at 9 p.m. There will be a midnight buffet, champagne toast and dancing. $10 cover.
Mike Mac presents "Midnite Masquerade," a New Year's eve party at Chameleons night club. Formal attire and masquerade masks requested. Doors open at 8 p.m. for this age 21 and up event. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Call (413) 499-2582.
"Duffy and Erin's Acoustic Rockin' New Year's Party" kicks off at 8 p.m. at PortSmitt's Lakeway Restaurant. No cover.
Casey's Billiards will have free pool, dancing and a champagne toast with a $5 cover for this 21 and up event.
The Sons of Italy Itam Lodge will host a gala New Year's Eve party, with live music by Shut Up and Dance. The evening begins with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by a surf and turf dinner at 7. Champagne and a light buffet will be served at midnight. Tickets at $55 for members and $60 for non-members, and can be purchased by calling Alba Wendling at (413) 499-3492.
As it goes every Monday, Mission Bar & Tapas will ring in the new year with jazz and fun with Andy Wrba & Friends.
DJ Stylus and DJ Sen-Gee will be hosting a New Year's Eve Bash at the Underground Pub in Pittsfield.
Wykyd will be playing a New Year's Eve Bash at Flavours in Pittsfield. Flavours will serve dinner until 9, then music starts at 10.
Tickets are $10 per person, limited availability, and should be bought in advance at the restaurant.
Spice Dragon restaurant will offer a deejay and dancing in the lounge.
Red Lion Inn will host its annual New Year's Gala with the John Sauer Band beginning at 8 p.m.
The cost is $150 per person (includes tax and gratuities) and includes a five-course dinner with a champagne toast at midnight, dancing and the sight of a ceiling decorated with more than 2,000 balloons.

Local blues-rooted rock band B.O.B. will play in the Lion's Den, where there's never a cover charge.
DJ BFG will be at the Purple Pub for New Year's Eve beginning at 10 p.m. There is no cover for this age 21 and up event.
