Due to the winter storm, many Berkshire County venues have postponed or canceled weekend events. We'll continue to update this list throughout the weekend.

The Latest:

• Due to the coming storm, all offices and drive-thru facilities at Hoosac Bank and Williamstown Savings Bank will be closed Saturday Feb. 9.

The Norman Rockwell Museum will reopen noon on Saturday, Feb. 9. The public is advised to call (413) 298-4100 for recorded updates.  “The 27th Annual Berkshire County High Show” is still scheduled to open at the Museum on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.; however, our featured speaker, illustrator James Warhola, will not be able to attend due to travel concerns. Mr. Warhola will reschedule his talk for a later date, with Norman Rockwell Museum's Curator of Education, Tom Daly speaking instead about Norman Rockwell's days as a student as well as his art training. For more info: http://www.nrm.org 

• The Diocese of Springfield urges all Catholics to heed travel advisories and restrictions as indicated by local and state officials, including to stay off roads during the peak storm hours and allow for emergency and plowing operations. The faithful are encouraged to use good judgment when planning to travel to Mass. 

Great Barrington: The town's transfer station and libraries will be closed Saturday pursuant to Governor's directive to keep all non-essential vehicles off the roads.

Parking Bans:

North Adams: From Mayor Richard Alcombright: A snow emergency for the city will last until 8 a.m. Saturday. Should conditions dictate, this snow emergency may be modified. Residents are urged to do their very best not to park on city streets during these times to allow public services and public safety crews clear access to the storm. 

• Lenox has declared a snow emergency beginning today at 4:00 p.m. continuing through Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Any vehicles parked on any streets town-wide will be towed at the owner's expense for snow removal purposes.

• Dalton has declared a snow emergency beginning at 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. Sunday. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the side of any roads during this time period. Any vehicles found to be parked on the roads will towed at the owner's expense.

• The Pittsfield Family YMCA will be closing its childcare program at noon Friday. There will be no after-school programs. The YMCA will close at 6 p.m., with no evening fitness availability. Swim team and breakdance programs are cancelled. The YMCA will reopen on Saturday at noon, but swim lessons, gymnastics, free runners and breakdancing programs are cancelled that day.

• The Berkshire Museum will close at 1 p.m. Little Cinema is canceled. The museum will reopen Saturday at 10 a.m. "Envisioning Emancipation" with author Barbara Krauthamer has been postponed. The planned gallery program "Bats: Out of the Cave and into the Night" has been moved from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The opening reception for "Ansel Adams: Masterworks" and "Nature Magnified: Photographs by Andreas Feininger" will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. as scheduled. Little Cinema screenings will resume Saturday evening at 7.

• The Berkshire Historical Society has postponed the Saturday brunch to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community House at Salisbury Estates.

Adams

• Berkshire Dance Theatre, Inc: Closed, classes canceled. 

Lenox

• The Lenox Library will be closed Friday.

North Adams

• The Northern Berkshire Community Coalition has canceled its monthly forum scheduled for Friday at the First Baptist Church. The forum will be rescheduled at a later date.

• Mt. Greylock Bowl will postpone the Bowl-A-Thon to Saturday, March 2. 

Williamstown

• The Clark Art Institute has postponed Friday's 8 p.m. Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert. Start with Art, a free preschool event scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.

New Lebanon, N.Y.

Friday's community meal scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the New Lebanon Congregational Church has been canceled.
