WILLIAMSTOWN -- On the day the Williams College men's hockey team got back in the national Division III Top 10, one of the Ephs was also named the NESCAC player of the week.

Cody Skinner, a senior forward from Katy, Texas, notched a pair of goals for the Ephs in a 2-0 weekend. He scored a goal in a 4-2 win over Amherst, that swept the season series from the Lord Jeffs. Then, Skinner scored an overtime goal to complete a four-goal comeback in a 4-3 win at Hamilton.

The two-game sweep to end the regular season moved the Ephs from 11 to 10 in the latest USCHO.com national Division III poll.

Williams is one of three NESCAC teams in the USCHO.com poll. Bowdoin got one first-place vote and is fourth in the nation, while Amherst is 11th -- switching places with Williams.

Both Williams hockey teams now know who they will play in the first round of the NESCAC tournament.

The Williams men are the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Colby on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The women are seeded seventh, and will travel to play No. 2 Bowdoin on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Williams College basketball teams, meanwhile, also moved up in their respective national polls.

The Williams men moved from No. 10 to No. 7 in the latest D3hoops.com national Top 25. Like in hockey, Williams is one of three NESCAC teams in the poll -- and all are in the top 10.

Amherst got one of 25 first-place votes and is currently No. 2 behind St. Thomas, while Middlebury dropped from third to fourth.

The Williams women, meanwhile, continued their march up the poll. This week, coach Pat Manning's team is ranked 15th, up from 17th.

Amherst, ranked sixth, is the other NESCAC team in the Top 25.
