The National Weather Service winter storm warning for the region remains in effect until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
Only some schools closed or delayed opening due to the inclement weather.
School closings included Adams-Cheshire Regional School District, Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School, Central Berkshire Regional School District, Emma L. Miller Memorial School in Savoy and Gabriel Abbott Memorial School in Florida.
Farmington River Regional Elementary School in Otis and the Southern Berkshire Regional School District posted two-hour delays.
Mildred Elley School in Pittsfield canceled morning classes. Afternoon classes are scheduled to resume at 12:30 p.m.
In advent of the storm and school closings, the state department of Elementary and Secondary Education postponed the start of spring MCAS testing, scheduled to begin Tuesday.
