PITTSFIELD -- Three women are being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing set for Monday in relation to the stabbing of a woman and beating of another outside a city bar over the weekend. The incident left one victim with a slashed cheek and chest and the other with a dislocated shoulder.

Alicya M. Hubbard and Brittany Gresser, both 22, and 34-year-old Shanay Jones are being held at the Berkshire County Jail & House of Correction on single counts of attempted murder and larceny over $250 and multiple counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon -- all felonies. The women deny the charges.

The defendants were arrested Monday morning and arraigned that afternoon before Judge Paul M. Vrabel. They pleaded not guilty to the felonies and were held without bail by the judge pending a dangerousness hearing. If found to be a danger to the two women they allegedly attacked, or to the community, they can be held for up to 90 days.

According to a Pittsfield Police probable cause report, police responded to the parking lot of the Back Nine Lounge on Crane Avenue for a reported fight involving five people at about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, everyone involved had already dispersed, but inside the bar they located a 24-year-old woman with a deep slash to her right cheek. She was transported to Berkshire Medical Center. Her 21-year-old cousin, who was also attacked, was already at the hospital.

The 24-year-old allegedly had argued with Hubbard inside the bar that night. Later, as the woman and her cousin were walking through the parking lot, they were jumped by Hubbard, Gresser and Jones, police said.

As the 24-year-old began to struggle with one of her attackers, a second woman grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the ground, where she was punched and kicked multiple times, police said. While on the ground, the victim was slashed in the face, neck and chest. Police believe Hubbard was responsible for the stabbing, according to the report.

When the 24-year-old's cousin came to her aid, she, too, was knocked to the ground, beaten and had her iPhone stolen, police said.

During the fight, two unidentified men watched, egging the women on and recording the scene, police said.

Besides the lacerations, the 24-year-old also suffered scratches to her cheek and back, a concussion and severe bruising to her body. Her cousin suffered a sprained right arm, dislocated shoulder, scrapes and bruising.

The three defendants are represented by attorneys John A. Bernardo, Robert D. Sullivan Jr. and Alexander R. Shmulsky, respectively.

It's likely the case will be heading to the grand jury.
