BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A special education teacher has been fired from a Vermont elementary school following an investigation alleging misconduct.
The Bennington Banner reports the inquiry by the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union was prompted by an audio recording in February at Bennington Elementary School.
Superintendent Catherine McClure confirmed a decision to terminate the employment of Kathy Houran was reached by the board during an executive session Monday. She did not discuss details of the allegations.
Houran could not be reached to comment and it wasn't immediately known if she had a lawyer.
She is the fourth staff member linked to the investigation. Three others have been placed on leave.
