NORTH ADAMS — A city man was acquitted of domestic violence charges earlier this month.

Nathan Tatro, 43, was found not guilty after a bench trial in two cases held in Northern Berkshire District Court.

Tatro had been accused in March of assaulting a woman he was dating.

When officers responded to Berkshire Medical Center's Northern Berkshire Campus on March 4, the woman told them she had been assaulted by her ex-husband's friend, according to a police report.

Police investigating the alleged assault found "conflicting stories," and when confronted by police the alleged victim said at the time it was Tatro who had assaulted her, police said.

In April, Tatro was accused of attempting to relay messages to the alleged victim through her friends. At trial, his attorney submitted evidence that she had initiated contact with him through Facebook Messenger.

Tatro was found not guilty of domestic assault and battery, intimidating a witness, and violating an abuse prevention order.
