COBLESKILL, N.Y. -- The MCLA men's soccer team received a much-needed win on Tuesday, easily beating SUNY Cobleskill 5-0.
Shawn Willis made the most of his first start in net, earning the shutout. He also was credited with the game-winning goal. His punt in the fourth minute bounced over the Cobleskill keeper.
Robert Dalby, Peter Allen and Dylan Pereira also scored first-half goals to give MCLA a 4-0 lead at the break.
Williams men's soccer wins
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- The Ephs gave up their one-goal lead in the final 10 minutes, but Matt Muralles answered right back, giving Williams a 2-1 win over Middlebury.
Williams led 1-0 from the 12:49 mark until Middlebury tied it with 5:31 to play. Muralles put Williams back on top 1:54 later. Peter Morrell made five saves for the win.
Williams volleyball wins
WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Ephs made quick work of visiting Union, cruising to a 25-11, 25-19, 25-22 win. Tori Jasuta led Williams with 14 kills.
MCLA women's soccer falls
SOUTH HADLEY -- The Trailblazers scored two goals in the final 28 minutes to force overtime before falling 3-2 to Mount Holyoke in double OT.
Jackie Dwyer and Natalie Caney scored to tie the game for MCLA, with Caney's coming with 5:50 left. But Ali Rossi scored in the 103rd minute to save Mount Holyoke.
Kathryn Daly made four saves for MCLA.
HADLEY -- Williams men's golfers Dylan Dethier and Cody Semmelrock each earned All-NESCAC honors. Dethier was honored for the third time in his career. He was a Second Team nomination this year. Semmelrock was also a Second Team selection, marking the second time he's been an all-conference golfer.
Women's cross country runner Kaleigh Kenny earned NESCAC Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for her performance at the Ephs' Purple Valley Classic on Saturday. She topped a field of 159 runners that included four nationally ranked Division III teams.
