PITTSFIELD -- The American Cancer Society will hold a "Look Good & Feel Better" training session for licensed cosmetologists and estheticians on Monday at Epoch Assisted Living, 140 Melbourne Road.

Training is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and lunch will be provided.

Look Good Feel Better, a free program founded and developed by the Personal Care Products Council, teaches cancer patients hands-on techniques to help them cope with appearance-related effects from chemotherapy or radiation treatments.

Wig care, scarf and hat use, skin and nail care will all be discussed.

Licensed cosmetologists and estheticians trained by the American Cancer Society conduct the program, which is non-medical and does not promote any product line.

Participants who complete the training will then have the opportunity to give back, lending their services and expertise to help others maintain confidence and style during treatment for cancer.
