Irena Maria Pandzic, daughter of Mario and Slavica Pandzic of Williamstown, graduated with a double bachelor of arts degree in politics and government and sociology/ anthropology and a minor in women’s and gender studies from Ohio Wesleyan Uni versity on May 13. An honors student, Pandzic was the chair of the Politics and Government Student Board as well as Sociology Student Board. She volunteered as a mentor in Columbus, Ohio, elementary schools and interned at The Supreme Court of Ohio in Columbus. She is a 2008 graduate of Mount Greylock Reg ional High School.

Nancy Rheaume Smith of Dalton, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts/management from South ern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt., in May. Smith is a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, and is the wife of Brian M. Smith, the mother of Emily B. Williams, and the daughter of Dorine Galliher of Hinsdale and Robert Rheaume of Pittsfield.

Drew Mintz, the son of Daniel Mintz of Lenox, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., for the 2012 spring semester. A graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barr ington, Mintz wrapped up his sophomore this spring.

Susan L. Torchia of Adams recently graduated with honors from Utica (N.Y.) College. She also was named to the spring 2012 dean’s list with a GPA of 3.4 or higher. She graduated with a bachelor of science in health studies.

Christopher P. Milanesi of North Adams has received the Student Association Graduate of the Year Award at Western New England University in Springfield. Milanesi is a senior graduating with a degree in finance. The Student Asso ciation Graduate of the Year Award is given to a graduating student who has demonstrated a continuing development of services and programs and who shows outstanding promise for the future.

Marta Kowitz, daughter of Karen Kowitz and Karl Kowitz of Williamstown, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2012 spring semester at Furman University in Greenville, S.C. Furman’s dean’s list is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system.

Eric Euchler, son of Barbara Malkas and John Euchler of Clarksburg, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Champlain College in Burlington, Vt. A graduate of the McCann Technical School Class of 2009, he was a member of the computer aided design and Project Lead The Way pre-engineering programs. He is majoring in game design in the School of Communication and Creative Media.

Justin Wirtes of Lanes borough graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt., this May. He also was inducted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society this spring. A graduate of McCann Technical School, he is the son of Kristin Wirtes of Goshen and Jesse Wirtes of Lanesborough.

Courtney George, daughter of Mary and Michael Kennedy and Jonathan George, all of Williamstown, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at High Point (N.C.) University. Dean’s list students are those who have attained a 3.5 GPA for the previous semester based on a 4.0 scale. George just completed her sophomore year and is majoring in strategic communications.

Sirianna L. Santacrose, daughter of Karen McWilliams of Williamstown and Stephen Santacrose, has been named to the dean’s list at Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., for the 2012 spring semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must have carried throug hout the semester a course load of four or more graded credits with an average of 3.5 or above. Santacrose, a rising sophomore, is a graduate of the Emma Willard School.
