Pittsfield:

Police D.A.R.E. to sell Monster Truck tickets

Pittsfield Police D.A.R.E Officer Michael Ortega will be at Walmart this Saturday selling Monster Truck tickets to Lebanon Valley Speedway for shows this coming Mon day, Tuesday and Wed nesday, July 16 to 18.

Proceeds will help support the Pittsfield Police D.A.R.E. program.

Ortega will be located in front of the Walmart store from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

This year's ticket prices, which include the pre-show Pit Pass, are $15 general admission for adults and $6 for children up to 12 years.

Pittsfield:

St. Joseph's to host
Polish Picnic Sunday

The 46th annual Polish Picnic will be held Sunday from noon to 6 at St. Joseph Church on North Street. Admission is free.

Polish and American food and drinks will be for sale. Frozen Polish food can be purchased starting at 9 a.m. Hot meals will be available at noon.

The Polish foods include kielbasa, kapusta, golumbki and pierogi. Other foods sold include hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, wine, soda, and various deserts.

Various raffles will be available along with a lottery ticket tree.

Entertainment for listening and dancing will be provided by The Rymanowski Brothers of Albany, N.Y.

A Kiddy Land with Mr. Bouncy Bounce and games will be set up to entertain the younger members of the family.

North Adams:

Mary Spitzer Center
to hold Baseball Day

The Council on Aging will hold Baseball Day at the Mary Spitzer Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

The event includes a lunch of hot dogs, beans, macaroni and potato salad followed by the movie "Moneyball." The donation is $2 for lunch.

Attendees are encouraged to wear clothing supporting their favorite baseball team. To reserve a seat, call (413) 662-3125.

Dalton:

Circus in town
Saturday, Sunday

The Dalton Lions Club circus will be this Saturday and Sunday at the Dalton American Legion Field on Route 9. Shows are at 2 and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

The public is invited to watch the circus set up Saturday morning. The circus trucks will arrive in Dalton between 7 and 8 a.m. The set up of the new circus tent will start at about 9 a.m. Lions members will provide free refreshments to those watching the set up.

A guided tour will be given around 9 a.m. as the elephants raise the big top.

Tickets are being be sold in advance through Friday at the Dalton CRA, 400 Main St.; Dalton General Store, 200 North St.; Greenridge Variety, South Street; Harry's Supermarket in Pitts field and Val's Variety in Adams.

Advance tickets are $10 for adults 12 and up, $6 for a child 2 to 11. No ticket is needed for those under 2. On show days at the circus box office, tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children.
