Fundraiser to benefit Janey scholarship
A fundraiser to benefit the Susan T. Janey Memorial Scholarship will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the American Legion, 31 Wendell Ave.
The fundraiser, hosted by Valerie Sistrunk and Erica Bernicchi, features the sale of Scentsy wickless candles in 80 scents. The candles can also be ordered online at https://eb.scentsy.us.
Janey was a science specialist in the Pittsfield Public Schools and worked at both Stearns and Williams Elem entary schools.
The scholarship fund was created following her death in September 2011.

Annual Bryant Day slated for Saturday
The fifth annual Bryant Day, celebrating William Cullen Bryant, the 19th century poet and author, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Bryant Homestead.
To begin the day, Bob Wood and Holly Higgin bothom will guide a nature walk at the Homestead. Afternoon activities include folk music from Winter green; readings by author and poet Kevin O’Hara; a lecture, "Bryant and the Birth of the American Short Story," by literary critic Frank Gado; and a yoga demonstration.
Star gazing will be led by members of the Arunah Hill Natural Science Center at 9 p.m.
Refreshments will be sold by the Chesterfield Grange and the Bryant Homestead Committee will provide free popcorn and hand-cranked ice cream.
Attendees may bring a picnic.
Tours of the Homestead are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. and are included with the admission.
Admission is $6/car for non-Trustees members.

Voter registration for town meeting
Voter registration for a special town meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday at Town Hall, 83 North Main St.
The special town meeting on Tuesday, July 31, at Lanesborough Elementary School, covers a proposed bylaw to regulate dock placement and rights-of-ways.

CSA farm store opens for season
Abode Farm vegetables will be available for purchase on Fridays throughout the summer beginning July 20 in the CSA pickup room located behind the Shaker Barn at 256 Darrow Road.
Vegetables can be purchased weekly from 6 to 7 p.m. on a first-come, first- served basis, according to farmers Sarah Steadman and Evan Thaler-Null.
One-half season CSA shares are still available. Every week shareholders will pick up a diverse mix of over 30 crops.
Each share provides about 8 to 15 pounds of fresh vegetables per week as well as pick-your-own herbs, beans, and heirloom tomatoes.
