Amanda Desormeaux of Pittsfield has been named to receive the Charles J. Hoff Scholarship given to Mass achusetts residents who are members of Common wealth Honors College at University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Selection for this renewable need-based scholarship is based on academic performance. The scholarship is named for successful entrepreneur and corporate executive Charles. J. Hoff, a 1966 graduate of UMass Lowell.
Desormeaux is a member of the UMass Amherst class of 2014 majoring in nursing. She graduated from Hoosac Valley High School in Cheshire in 2010.
