PITTSFIELD -- The Pittsfield Family YMCA has announced its 2012 annual award recipients -- honorees who uphold the Y's values and mission in their interactions and actions -- at its 126th annual meeting. The awards and honorees are as follows:
The 2012 Youth Development Award: Kelly Milligan for her volunteerism and dedicated effort to assist the Y's Polar Bears Swim Team.
The 2012 Healthy Living Award: Joe and Eileen Greenleaf for volunteering at the Y, embracing the Y's mission, as well as demonstrating healthy living values.
The 2012 Social Responsibility Award: Phillip Hart, Joan Tegan and Donna Zahn from BCArc for their conscientious cleaning of the YMCA facility, their bright personalities and being a part of the Y family.
The 2012 Employees of the Year: Theresa Tracy, Robert Dillon and Alan Cassidy for being exemplary and inspiring instructors in our fitness classes.
The 2012 Senior Member of the Year: Herb West for demonstrating the Y's mission and values and his support of the Y. He recently said about the Y, "Where I feel good, I make my home."
Special Appreciation Award: John Rogers, a former board member, for his efforts and wisdom over his 20 years of service. He spearheaded many financial projects, including the federal process for our residential program and our recent solar panel project at Ponterril.
The Edward Dery Jr. Award: Linda Dulye, whose one year on the board
The Fred G. Lincks Award: Michael McKinney, a board member, for his outstanding leadership in the growth of the Y over a long period of time. The award, in memory of Lincks, is given to those who demonstrate exceptional leadership and embrace the mission of the Y.
