Mass MoCA will continue its annual tradition of projecting flight-themed movies on an airplane hangar at Harriman-West Airport with the screening of "Apollo 13" at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3.

The film chronicles the heroic efforts made to return three astronauts safely to earth after a harrowing 10-day mission derailing NASA's third lunar landing.

Audience members are encouraged to come early to enjoy the great views; bring lawn chairs and blankets. The first 100 kids receive free balsa wood flier planes, and Lickety Split will serve up vintage drive-in fare: popcorn, ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers, snacks, soft drinks, beer, and wine. No coolers are allowed.

Gates open at 7 p.m. at North Adams' Harriman-West airport on Route 2. Tickets are only sold at the gate, and cost $14 per car or $7 for adults and $3 for kids under 12. The rain date for the event is July 6.
