The Council on Aging invites seniors to participate in "I Walk in Beauty," an inter-generational Native American & Navajo Cultural and Arts program, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Community Center.
Two adult/senior workshops include constructing a talking or prayer stick from 9 to 11 a.m. and designing a prayer and protection feather from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Each workshop costs $10 each.
A Navajo mutton stew lunch costs $6 for seniors, students and veterans, and $8 for adults. Reservations: (413) 637-5535.
David King, local historian and author of "Indians in the Berkshires," will be available for a short lunchtime discussion. A 24-foot Northern Plains Tipi will be erected behind the Community Center.
Workshops are open to the first 20 participants. Call (413) 637-5535 to register and stop in at the COA office at the Community Center to pre-pay for the workshops and lunch.
