Barrington Stage Company will host a Pittsfield Community Night in conjunction with its Youth Theatre production of "Hairspray Jr." on Thursday, July 31, at the Berkshire Museum, 39 South St.

Following the 7 p.m. performance, the cast, BSC company members and Pittsfield community leaders will participate in a panel discussion on race and discrimination.

Panelists include Shirley Edgerton, program director of Youth Alive and Rights of Passage; Adam Hinds, coordinator for the city’s Shannon Grant gang prevention initiative; and Will Singleton, president of the local chapter of the NAACP.
