Did you know you can tell the temperature by counting the chirps of a Snowy Tree cricket? Have you ever wondered what insects make up the amazing chorus on summer nights?

The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation invites the public to Sheep Hill at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, to learn more about the world of grasshoppers, crickets, katydids and other night-singing insects.

Bring a flashlight and shoes suitable for damp and possibly mud conditions.

The program is free and suitable for all ages. Rain date is Thursday, Aug. 14.

Sheep Hill is located on Route 7 approximately one mile south of the Williamstown rotary. For more information, visit www.wrlf.org or email interpreter@wrlf.org.
