New York Times bestselling author Simon Winchester will discuss his new book, "Pacific: Silicon Chips and Surfboards, Coral Reefs and Atom Bombs, Brutal Dictators, Fading Empires, and the Coming Collision of the World's Superpowers," as part of the Stockbridge Library's Speaker Series.

The program will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at the Town Offices, 50 Main St.

Winchester tackles this "oceanic behemoth of eye-watering complexity" by focusing on key moments since 1950 that speak to the greater trends and larger truths about the ocean's significance to us today.
