Farmers, breeders, and visitors should mark their calendars for the Small Animal Tailgate Sale from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Sunday, April 24, on Berkshire Farm Center's main campus at 13640 State Route 22.

Local vendors will sell farm animals and area farm products, and students will sell refreshments throughout the day.

Vendors pay a $10 fee and admission is free for all visitors and buyers. Proceeds support Berkshire's students as they prepare for college and careers in Berkshire's Workforce Development Program.

The comprehensive workforce readiness program provides students with real, paid work experience matched with classroom education that covers the expectations and skills necessary to thrive in the working world.

Students in Berkshire's Nursery & Horticulture and Animal Husbandry Program learn to raise a variety of plants, work with suppliers, and care for and form close relationships with animals on the farm.
