Nine Western Mass. potters will open their studios to the public for the 12th Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and May 1.
This free springtime event showcases the work and working environments of a group of nationally-known makers, along with 13 guest potters from around New England and as far away as Washington State.
Visitors will find tableware, garden sculpture, and architectural tiles made in work spaces that include restored barns, factory buildings and small-town storefronts.
The self-guided tour winds along the back roads and scenic historic towns of the so-called Asparagus Valley.
The studios are clustered in three areas: Northampton/Amherst; Greenfield and the northern Valley; and the Mohawk Trail village of Shelburne Falls.
