Warren D. Allmon, director of the Paleontological Research Institution in Ithaca, N.Y., will deliver the second annual William Selke Memorial Lecture at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Stockbridge Library.

Allmon is also the Hunter R. Rawlings III professor of paleontology in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University. His lecture topic will be "How Paleontology Can Help Save the World."

Martha Selke established the annual William Selke Memorial Lecture in 2015 to honor the memory of her husband, who enjoyed a distinguished career in engineering research and development.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
