Absentee ballots for the Sept. 8 state primary are available in the town clerk's office. All applications for an absentee ballot must be made in writing no later than noon Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Residents may vote absentee if they will be absent from town on election day, have a physical disability preventing them from voting at the polls or cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.
Friday, Aug. 19, is the deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation for the state primary. The town clerk's office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Online registration is available at www.RegisterToVoteMA.com.
Voting will take place at the Department of Public Works Garage, 92 North Summer St., from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8.
