The 28th annual Greylock Federal Fall Foliage Classic Road Race will take place at noon Sunday, Oct. 2, prior to the 61st annual Fall Foliage Parade.

The road race is presented by Greylock Federal Credit Union, along with co-sponsors, the Berkshire Eagle and Berkshire Running Center.

The 5k race starts at the top of Main Street near the North Adams Public Library. Racers will be grouped into one of eight age categories. An awards ceremony and refreshments will follow the race at 85 Main St.

The first 150 entrants will receive a free race T-shirt. Registration packets will be available for in person pick-up at 75 South Church St., Pittsfield, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, between noon and 4 p.m.

Entrants may also register on race day starting at 10:30 a.m. at 85 Main St., the former office location of the Berkshire Eagle.

Proceeds benefit the Berkshire Eagle's Newspapers in Education program which provides free classroom newspapers or e-papers, upon request, to any teacher in the Northern Berkshire public or private schools, grades K-12.
