STOCKBRIDGE -- Aglet Theatre Company is looking for actors and actresses for its spring season of staged play readings. Auditions are scheduled Tuesday at Berkshire Theatre Group's Unicorn Theatre and Monday at Bok Gallery in Sharon, Conn.

Auditions -- by appointment only -- begin at 6 p.m. both days.

The plays are:

n "Mass Appeal" by Bill C. Davis. Directed by Thomas Gruenewald. Performance dates: March 23, Bok Gallery; March 30, Unicorn Theatre.

Characters: Father Tim Farley (this role has been cast) and Mark Dolson, a firebrand young seminarian who challenges the parish priest, Father Farley, assigned to be his mentor. Mid- to late- 20s.

n "The Oldest Profession" by Paula Vogel. Directed by Donald Sosin. Performance dates: April 26 and 27, Bok Galley; May 3 and 4, Unicorn.

Five aging practitioners of the oldest profession are faced with a diminishing clientele, increased competition for their niche market, and aching joints. With wit, compassion and humor, they struggle to find and learn new tricks as they fight to stay in the Life. Needed are actresses age 55 and over. All the women are vibrant and sexy.

Auditioners should be prepared to sing 16 bars of a down-and-dirty blues song of their choice, vamp, and improvise comments to the audience. Bring sheet music; accompanist will be provided.
