GHENT, N.Y. -- "Lettice and Lovage," a comedy by Peter Shaffer, begins performances tonight at The Ghent Playhouse, where it is scheduled to run through March 31.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2.
Directed by Tom Detwiler, the production features Johnna Murray as Lettice Douffet, a docent at Fustian House, "the dullest house in England," who uses her naturally theatrical, larger-than-life personality to "Enlarge, Enliven, and Enlighten" an otherwise boring tale of the house's history; Joan Coombs as Lotte Schoen from the Preservation Trust, who is not amused by Lettice's embellishments and is forced to take action; Glen Barrett as Mr. Bardolph, the Preservation Trust's lawyer; and Nancy Hammell as Miss Framer, the secretary.
Ticket information is available by calling 1-800-838-3006 or online at www.gentplay house.org
