In repertory through Aug. 24. Selected evenings -- 7:30, 8, 8:30. Selected matinees -- 3, 4. (1:35). Shakespeare & Company, Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, 70 Kemble St., Lenox. Tickets: $80-$10. WORKING ON A SPECIAL DAY. A modest 1977 film from Italian director Ettore Scola is the source of this inventive, imaginatively staged, skillfully acted play about an encounter between a working class housewife and mother and a mysterious single man living across the courtyard on the day in 1938 on which Adolf Hitler comes to Rome to meet Benito Mussolini (6/25). Through July 6. Eves.: 7:30 Tue.-Sat. Mats.: 4 Sat.; 3 Sun. (1:12). Barrington Stage Company, St. Germain Stage, Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden St., Pittsfield.
