BENNINGTON, VT. >> The Bennington County Choral Society is seeking singers for its annual spring concert. The May program, "Cries of War, Hopes for Peace," will feature Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" and Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem."
Weekly evening rehearsals begin Monday at the Second Congregational Church, 115 Hillside St., culminating in concert performances on May 14 and 15.
Any interested singer can join the first rehearsal this Monday, arriving at 6:45 p.m. to allow time to register and sign out music.
Regular weekly Monday rehearsals are held from 7 to 9 p.m.
The chorus is open to singers of all abilities, ages 15 and older. A modest membership fee of $35 per concert, or $60 for the full season, is requested.
The Bennington County Choral Society is a mixed adult chorus of voices drawn from southern Vermont and nearby New York and Massachusetts communities. It aims to foster an environment in which chorus members coalesce as a group and develop as an ensemble, with the goal of growing musically through weekly rehearsals and performances.
