Alford Fire Department

What: Pancake breakfast: pancakes, sausage, butter, maple syrup, orange juice, coffee, tea.
When: Sunday, Oct. 7, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. (Always the Sunday of the Columbus Day weekend.)
Where: At the fire station, 86 North Egremont Road.
Donation: $8 adults, $4 children, infants free; pay at the door. Ashfield Fire Department
Del Haskins, chief
What: Selling grinders, spaghetti, chili, chowder
When: Ashfield Fall Festival Columbus Day weekend

Where: Inside the fire station, 412 Main St./Route 116
Egremont Fire Department

What: Pancake breakfast.
When: Always on Palm Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
What: Steak Roast prepared by the Old Mill and John Andrews restaurants: 14-ounce strip steak, salad, baked potato, garlic bread, SoCo ice cream sundae with Old Mill chocolate sauce, non-alcoholic beverages.
When: Always the first Sunday after Columbus Day weekend. Sunday, Oct. 14, from 4 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Outside the fire station; under a tent if it rains; 36 Main St./Route
Donation: $25 adults; children $12.50; tickets available at the door.
Great Barrington Fire Department

What: Big breakfast: pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash, ham, fruit, orange juice, maple syrup, coffee, tea
When: Sunday, Sept.16.
Where: At the fire house; 37 State Road/Routes 7 and 23

Hinsdale Fire Department

What: Block dance: carnival food -- hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, fried dough; six live bands; dancing
When: Saturday, July 21, 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Where: At the fire station; 86 Maple St./Route 143
Donation: $5 at the event.
Lanesborough Volunteer Fire Department

What: Block dance: live band Skid Marks.
When: Saturday, Aug. 18.

South Lee Fire Department

What: Chicken barbecue: 1/2 chicken with special rub, corn-on-the-cob, salad, bread, great variety of homemade from-scratch desserts, soft drinks, coffee.
When: Saturday, Aug. 18, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
Where: At the playground across the street from the South Lee firehouse, 1380 Pleasant St./Route 102 at the corner of Church Street.
Donation: $14 adults, $9 children; tickets available at RW's, Inc. auto repairs, 32 Run Way off Route 102, (413) 243-0946; or from South Lee firefighters.
Monterey Fire Company

What: Steak roast, live band and children's entertainment: steak or swordfish, corn-on-the-cob, baked potato, salad, roll, ice cream, beer, wine, soft drinks; hot dogs and hamburgers for sale for children; picnic-style dinner on lawn.
When: Saturday, July 28, 5 to 7 p.m.
Where: At the firehouse pavilion; 411 Main St./Route 23.
Donation: $25; tickets available from firefighters, at transfer station on weekend mornings, at firehouse Wednesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or leave message at (413) 528-3136; advance payment preferred.
Otis Fire Department

What: Second Annual steak roast and dance: steak, corn-on-the-cob, baked potato, salad, rolls, cake, soft drinks, byob.
When: Saturday, Aug, 25, dinner 5 to 7 p.m.; dancing from 7 p.m. on

Plainfield Fire-EMS /Firefighters Association

What: Chicken barbecue: 1/2 chicken, corn-on-the-cob, baked potato, dinner roll, watermelon, iced tea, lemonade, coffee; also library book sale, PTO bake sale, Ladies' Benevolent Society tag sale and Arts Council art exhibit.
When: Always the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
Sunday, Sept., 2.
Where: behind the Shaw Memorial Library; 312 Main St./Route 116.
Donation: $10 adults; $6 children; tickets available from Plainfield fire fighters and EMTs.
Richmond Volunteer Fire Department

Where: At the firehouse, 35 Fire house Lane west of Route 41.
Donation: $15; tickets available at town hall, 1529 State Road/Route 41 and Bartlett's Orchard, 575 Swamp Road.
Sandisfield Fire Department

Tyringham Fire Company

Donation: $25 adults; $5 children under 12.
What: Pancake breakfasts: pancakes, Wohrle's sausages, butter, Tyringham maple syrup, orange juice, coffee.
When: Sunday, July 1 and Sunday, Sept, 2.
Donation: $12 adults, $5 seniors and children under 12; tickets for sale at Cobble View Bed and Breakfast, Tyringham.
Where: At the firemen's pavilion, 100 Main Road.
