This event devoted to cutting-edge innovation in health technology has grown in size, moving to Santa Clara and drawing in around 9,000 visitors. This year the event expands to include Health 2.0 Middle East in Dubai, Jan. 27-28, and Bangalore, Feb. 8-9. Similar events around the globe include Med-e-Tel, TechCrunch Disrupt, and eTELEMED.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Oct. 1-31 Worldwide
Kicking off Oct. 1, countries around the globe will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with 31 days spotlighting prevention, education, and finding a cure. In the U.S., the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is planned this month in New York City, as well as in Charlotte, N.C. Also look to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in the U.S. and the UK's Race for Life Twilight events.
Oct. 1-31 Hard Rock Cafes and Hotels worldwide
Pinktober 2013 is the 14th annual Hard Rock campaign for breast cancer awareness. Musicians worldwide will host events to support breast cancer charities that include concerts, showcases and fashion shows. There are also pink products (key chains, T-shirts, pins) for sale online and the hotels will turn down pink sheets with 25 percent of the room rate going to charity.
World Mental Health Day
