K'NEX contest: The 2013 "K'NEXpert Classroom Challenge" is now open and invites teachers to engage in exciting hands-on activities that support learning Grades 1 through 9, while helping their students build manipulative skills, challenging them to apply STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) knowledge and skills, and encouraging them to apply organized, logical strategy as they design, build and problem-solve.

Teachers and their classes will compete against classrooms at the same grade level, building a model based on a specific, age-appropriate building challenge: grades 1 and 2 create a farm; grades 3 and 4 build a water wheel; grades 5 and 6 build a mountain climber; and grades 7 through 9 create an Olympic stadium.

One winner will be chosen for each grade level, with the nine-winning classrooms receiving several prizes including a $350 knexeducation.com shopping spree and a free K'NEX building set for every participating student.
