South Berkshire Kids events: South Berkshire Kids family organization has a few upcoming events that families can register for that are free and open to the public:
On Wednesday, Dec. 26, gather for a Curious George story, video and craft program beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Lee Public Library. Each participating child gets a free Curious George book. Space is limited. Call (413) 243-0385 to register. Space is limited.
A free parent workshop and discussion panel on children's health topics led by Dr. Lara Setti will be held on Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the CHP community room, 444 Stockbridge Road, Great Barrington.
On Tuesdays, Jan. 29 to March 5 at 10:30 a.m., a parent-child literacy workshop series will be held at the Lee Library.
Logo contest: Berkshire County students are invited to submit a design for a common logo that can be used for all county schools. The logo might be used on apparel and programs for events including multiple schools from Berkshire County.
The logo will also be used for T-shirts to be distributed at the first annual Berkshire County Leadership Training in February. Students may submit as many designs into the competition as they would like. The winner will be chosen in early January.
Designs should be submitted to email@example.com by Jan. 5. Students should include their name, grade and school.
Mahaiwe holiday events: The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center will present a festive array of family-friendly offerings this holiday season. On Saturday at 4 p.m., the Mahaiwe will present Warner Brothers Looney Toons classic cartoons on the big screen. Audience members will relive lazy Saturday mornings with the Looney Tunes Golden Collection, which contains Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated shorts in Technicolor. Tickets are $6, general admission.
On Sunday, the theater will host a free 7 p.m. screening of Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" (1946, not rated).

'A Christmas Carol': Berkshire Theatre Group is pleased to announce the reprise of its annual community production of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," adapted by Eric Hill.
The show runs through Dec. 30 at The Colonial Theatre, 111 South St., Pittsfield.
On Saturday, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit theatergoers in lobby space known as The Garage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guest who arrive early will be treated to a performance by BTG's Children's Chorus, featuring holiday music and sing-a-longs in The Garage as a prelude to each show.

'Learn to Skate': The Pittsfield Parks Speed Skating Club (PPSSC) will conduct its annual "Learn to Skate" program from Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. each day at the Boys and Girls Club of Pittsfield on Melville Street.
Advance registration will be held today and Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the club lobby. Cost is $30 for the first child and $25 for each additional child. Enrollment is limited.
