'Alchemy's Secrets Revealed': Lawrence M. Principe will deliver a talk, "Alchemy's Secrets Revealed," for the annual Richmond Lecture on Monday, at 6:30 p.m., in Griffin Hall, room 3, at Williams College, Williamstown. The event is free and open to the public.

Principe is the Drew Professor of the Humanities at the Johns Hopkins University in the Department of History of Science and Technology and the Department of Chemistry.

Grammy Award for a music educator: Nominations are being accepted through April 15 for the first Music Educator Award presented by The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Foundation.

The award is open to current U.S. music teachers from kindergarten through college, in public and private schools.

The award will be presented during GRAMMY Week 2014. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the award, attend the GRAMMY Awards ceremony, and receive a $10,000 honorarium. The nine finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium.

Project Native film fest: On Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Project Native will host its third annual Environmental Film Festival at the Triplex Cinema in Great Barrington.

Films on a variety of topics, from 90-minute features to short films for children, will be shown.

The day-long festival will start with a collection of short films for children and families at 10 a.m. The films are based on children's books.

All films will be shown free.

'Music Marathon Weekend': Berkshire Music School will present "Picture This!" its annual Music Marathon Weekend this Saturday. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday. from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will perform to earn pledges to support BMS music education programs. The event, free and open to the public, will be held at Taft Recital Hall, 30 Wendell Ave., Pittsfield.

'Big Ideas Contest' for The Jimmy Fund: The Jimmy Fund is hosting a contest seeking ideas for a new fundraiser to benefit cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

The Jimmy Fund Big Ideas Contest is open to participants 21 and older who are residents of the United States. The deadline to enter is midnight on April 21. The competition seeks ideas that would raise approximately $100,000 or more each year for the Jimmy Fund.

The winner will receive the contest's grand prize: a seven-night Caribbean vacation, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots experience packages, and more.
