IEP workshop for parents:
United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Berkshire County will host a free workshop, “An IEP For My Child,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
This workshop takes parents stepby- step through Individualized Education Program development, including how to articulate a vision, use evaluations to write measurable goals, and measure a child's progress.

GED Testing Center dates:
The GED Testing Center at Berkshire Community College will offer tests on Oct. 16 and 17; Oct. 30 and 31; Nov. 6 and 7; Nov. 13 and 14. If enrollment warrants, there will be a session on Nov. 15 and 16.
The statewide registration deadline is Oct. 18. Application packets can be obtained by calling the center at (413) 236-1656. The initial testing fee is $65.
Testing is done over a twomorning period; all tests begin at 8:30 a.m., at BCC, 1350 West St., Pittsfield.
Sessions also will be held at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams on Saturdays, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, and on Nov. 9 and 16 at BCC's South County Center in Great Barrington.
Retest sessions also will be offered on Oct. 18 to 25; Nov. 8, 15, 26; Dec. 4, 6 10, 11, 13, also starting at 8:30 a.m. There will also be retesting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 12, and at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7. All retesting sessions will be held at BCC's main campus, and cost $17 per subject.

Students sponsor Ward 3 debate:
Egremont Elementary School staff and students will host a Ward 3 City Council political debate at 6 tonight with candidates Nicholas Caccamo and Richard Latura.
It is free and open to the public, and will be televised live by Pittsfield Community Television and moderated by Egremont Elementary School Council co-chairman and former state Rep. Denis Guyer.

Immigrants' Day celebration:
There will be food, music, friends, fun and many activities from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday as Morningside Community School hosts Berkshire Immigrant Center's “Immigrants' Day in the Berkshires.”
Free food, entertainment and legal services will be offered.

YMCA program registration:
Registration is open for the Pittsfield Family YMCA's elementary school-age programs. The YMCA offers before and after-school programs to school-aged children at Allendale, Crosby, Egremont and Williams elementary schools; an after-school care program at Richmond Consolidated School, as well as an after-school activity program at Herberg Middle School.
Financial assistance is available.
School-based programs run from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. The YMCA also offers before and after-school programs, from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. and from 3 to 6 p.m. at its center, 292 North St., Pittsfield. Information: Jessica Rumlow, youth development director, at (413) 499-7650, ext. 11.
