During Lee Elementary School's Nov. 7 veterans celebration, children invited their family members and relatives who are veterans to the school. The veterans were treated to songs, poems, readings, and a video. A roll call was read for local deceased veterans while photos sent in by their families were displayed. Lukas Loehr spoke to the audience about his brother Cam, who is in the service and the celebration ended with a gathering of family, friends and good food. Each veteran was also given a "Hero" bar, a candy bar with a hand-drawn wrapper made by school children with the word "Hero" written on it, shown at left.
