BART open house: The Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School is enrolling students in grades 6 through 9 for the 2014-15 school year.
An information session will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the school, One Commercial Place, Adams. The enrollment deadline for the 2014-15 school year will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Deadline for honoring teachers: The deadline for superintendents and heads of school to nominate teachers for the 2014 James C. Kapteyn Prize, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, is Saturday, at 5 p.m.
The fund gives a prize of $10,000 to a secondary school educator who exemplifies excellence in "whole child teaching," serving in multiple capacities within a school community, be it coaching or advising.
Nominations should included the nominee's name, length of time teaching at their respective high school, and a brief job description. If a nominee is deemed eligible, the nominee will be invited to submit an application packet which will be due by April 1,

Youth auditions for ‘Seussical': For its ninth annual Children's Theatre Production, Berkshire Theatre Group will present "Seussical," the musical inspired by the stories and characters of Dr. Seuss.
Berkshire Theatre Group seeks child and adult actors, musicians, backstage crew, technical support, usher staff and parent volunteers. The roles and positions are open to members of the Berkshire community, third grade through adults.

'National Girls and Women in Sports Day' at MCLA: The Athletics Department at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will hold its annual "National Girls and Women in Sports Day" celebration on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event, which is free and open to the public, offers clinics to girls (grades 3-8) and adult women. Lunch is included in the event, which culminates with the Trailblazers' women's basketball game versus Bridgewater State University.

Arts educator award deadline: Friday is the deadline to nominate someone for the K-12 Arts Educator Award presented by IS183 Art School of the Berkshires. This award recognizes arts educators for grades kindergarten through 12, who consistently go above and beyond to inspire imagination and creativity in their students.
The winner will be announced this spring, and will receive a $1,183 professional development award, courtesy of the Seth Nash Creativity Fund, to be used for an arts enrichment activity.
