BCD playgroups: Berkshire Country Day School will host "BCD & Me" morning preschool-age playgroup sessions from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursdays on May 8, 15, 22 and 29. The program is free and open to the public; registration is suggested but not required.
The program will be held in BCD's newly renovated library on the school's historic Brook Farm campus, 55 Interlake Road (Route 183) in Stockbridge. The playgroup provides a fun introduction to the French language using stories, music, dance, and creative play.

Ruth P. Boraski Celebration Evening: Girls Inc. of the Berkshires will host its annual Ruth P. Boraski Celebration Evening at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Colonial Theatre, 111 South St. in Pittsfield.
The evening will honor Berkshire Theatre Group Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire with the Girls Inc. "She Knows Where She's Going" award. Eight other area students will be honored with $8,000 in college scholarships. The Ruth P. Boraski Fund scholars include: Pittsfield High School students Sienna Carpenter and Rachele Rosiello; Sabina Fouser of Mount Everett Regional School, Sienna Powers of Taconic High School, and Lenox Memorial High School's Taylor Tranfaglia.
The Berkshire Community College Foundation Scholarship will be given to Jessica Hover of PHS. The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Scholarship will be awarded to Gladys Garcia Rijos of PHS. Lee High School student Hannah Miller will be given the Zonta Club of Berkshire County Scholarship.

'The Neighborlies': Northern Berkshire County agencies will gather at 5 p.m. on Wednesday to present their Spring Neighborlies awards, at Congregation Beth Israel, 53 Lois St., North Adams. This event is free and open to the public, and will honor people who have made a positive impact in the community.

Arboretum study tour: Join the Berkshire Botanical Garden staff from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday for a "Pine Hollow Arboretum Study Tour" in Slingerlands, N.Y.
Woody plant and tree lovers of all levels can come and explore this lesser known horticultural gem. Founder Dr. John W. Abbuhl, who will lead the tour, began planting trees on his property in 1966; his initial planting has developed into an arboretum with a cataloged collection of over 3,300 unique trees, shrubs and other woody plants from around the world.
The setting includes 12 ponds and a succession forest, all easily accessible by a network of walking trails and bridges.
Participants can choose to carpool or drive separately. Those joining the carpool should meet in the parking lot at Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge for a 9 a.m. departure.
