LENOX — The Lenox Cultural Council will present the Housatonic Philharmonic in its fifth annual free Cabin Fever Concert on Saturday, March 7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The Housatonic Philharmonic will present a program of old time Celtic and American music played on a variety of instruments. The group consists of Paul Rice on fiddle, banjo, and dobro; Tim Gray on hammer dulcimer, pennywhistles, and piano; and Andy Gordon on banjo and spoons.

The trio has been featured on WAMC's "Performance Place," Bobby Flay's Food Network show, the lawn at Tanglewood, and has recorded a soundtrack for PBS on the Jacob's Ladder Trail.

The band will explain the history and playing techniques of the instruments. Their music includes jigs, reels, hoedowns and waltzes, and timeless tunes that have been passed down through many generations. They also play some more recent and original tunes.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lenox Cultural Council.
