LENOX — The Democratic Town Committee has voted to restrict voting in the annual Democratic Town Caucus to those persons enrolled in the Democratic Party. This policy is a change from previous years when both Democrats and unenrolled voters were allowed to participate.

The caucus, which will nominate candidates seeking election to town positions or boards, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Lenox Town Hall.

Nominees will be selected for Moderator, Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Board of Assessors, Board of Health and Planning Board.

Only voters who have registered in the Democratic Party as of March 17 will be allowed to participate, and are encouraged to attend and vote for the candidates of their choice. Registered Democratic candidates who receive the most votes for each position will have their name included on the ballot as the Town Democratic Party nominee for the annual town election to be held on Monday, May 5.
