We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the family, friends, friends of friends and strangers who have visited our project at Kickstarter.com and pledged to help us fund the Shakespeare program at Ta conic Hills High School. The program began this week, with the students holding a Drama Club meeting and then with the directors holding auditions. 2013 will be our 11th year of participation in the Fall Festival of Shakespeare with Shake speare & Company from Lenox.

Our project has concluded its fundraising push on the Kick starter website. After 25 days into a 30-day project, the Taconic Hills High School PTO achieved the goal of $5,000 in pledges toward our annual Shakespeare program.

Reaching our goal means that we have a successful Kick starter project -- an accomplishment in itself -- and that we will realize approximately 92 percent of those funds to help us pay the costs of our program (fees to Kickstarter and Amazon come to about 7-8 percent.) The program costs $20,000 to participate and we had raised it, before the Kick starter campaign, through fundraisers, generous donations and grants, more than half that amount. Any additional proceeds from this fundraiser will help our group meet the costs of the program, jump-start our program funding for next year and fund our Kickstarter rewards, like T-shirts, photo CDs and tickets to the show.

Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing a large audience at both of our Shakespeare shows at Taconic Hills this year on Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10. The culmination of The Fall Festival of Shake speare is at Founder’s Theater at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox on Thursday, Nov. 15, through Sunday, Nov. 18.

Thanks for helping our students to "Break a leg"!
