Mitt Romney wants to eliminate federal oversight agencies in favor of returning the responsibilities to the states. Shouldn’t the fact that the Massachusetts company that produced the drug responsible for the meningitis outbreak was not required to follow federal regulations alert us to the dangers of heeding Mr. Romney’s plan?
