I am writing a letter in support of Smitty Pignatelli, state representative, 4th Berkshire District.
As a former member of the Lenox Board of Selectman, I have worked closely with Smitty on many occasions for the good of our community. He has secured, to date, $8.3 million just for Lenox. A $950,000 Public Works Economic Devel op ment (PWED) grant went to the Lenox Village Downtown Revitalization Project, and downtown has never looked better. New sidewalks and energy-efficient historic lighting grace our quaint village. A total of $3 million in Recovery Zone Facility bonds was appropriated to bring a new business to Lenox and a $137,000 Massa chusetts Cultural council grant was provided for improvements to Edith Wharton’s The Mount.

I could go on and on labeling Smitty’s accomplishments, but those who know him know his many talents. Smitty is the Berkshire voice on Beacon Hill. He is a man who loves his job and the people he represents. I am proud to have Smitty Pignatelli as my state representative. Show your appreciation and go to the polls for Smitty. Let him know we care.
