Inasmuch as the upcoming election has cost me a lot of sleep, I decided to put my concerns in writing.

After 60 years in the workforce of this great country, I’m dismayed by the fact that if my income drops enough next year to where I will no longer be paying income tax, I will become not worthy of consideration by one of the presidential candidates.

I am also concerned about a candidate who can be de scribed as either a shapeshifter or someone afflicted by premature senility, as he can’t remember his stance on anything for longer than five minutes.

I will give his running mate credit for stating his religion will be an important part of his governance. I hope someone asks him before the election if he feels that it is all right for the leader of any organization to cover up crimes, especially against children, to protect the reputation of their organization.

The political party they represent has solidly aligned itself with the avaricious portion of the wealthy, the returned robber barons. Their programs are so good they have had to resort to disinformation and the big lie to sell them.

In the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts we have a person who successfully shoved a consumer protection agency down the throats of the Re publicans in Congress. She is not heading it up because Republicans threatened to filibuster her appointment.

If that isn’t a ringing endorsement by the opposition party, what is? Her opponent’s voting record speaks for itself.

I hope that I wake up the day after the election to find that common sense and common decency have prevailed.
